FORT HILLS PUMP TEST

This project involved pumping 4 previously drilled wells, simultaneously. Each well had its own flow meter and variable speed drive flow control. The water was then discharged into a 4000 liter surface tank and pumped from there to a common 50,000 liter collection tank. The combined total flow was 2100 l/min, which was then pumped 4.5 km, with 2 in line pump booster stations.

The site was remote with limited road access and an environmentally sensitive creek to cross. The deep well pumps were set with a picker mounted on a tracked Nodwell. Gensets and fuel delivery was done by an Argo and trailer set up. Staff collected flow rate and water level data, 24 hours a day for the duration of the 5 day pump test and recovery.
