Wellpoint Dewatering

Well point dewatering is the process of removing groundwater from soils beneath a site by installing a series of wells connected to a header system and applying suction via vacuum. Under the influence of vacuum groundwater is drawn up the wells and enters the header system at a common point where the water is then pumped away for disposal. This method is very versatile and works well in most types of formations as the depths and spacing of wells can be controlled, as well as the amount of vacuum to each well point can be varied to accommodate site conditions.
